Nearly bought 30 pounds of chicken at Costco to save money and I'm glad I didn't
Last month I stood in the Costco aisle doing math on my phone and almost grabbed the 30 pound bag of chicken thighs for $52 because the price per pound beat my local grocery store by a mile. Then I pictured my freezer, which is a tiny apartment one that already holds two bags of frozen peas and a pizza. I put it back and got 6 pounds for $14 instead. Two weeks later a buddy of mine went the bulk route and half his chicken got freezer burn before he could eat it, so he tossed maybe $20 worth of meat in the trash. I'm not saying bulk never works, but if your freezer is small or you live alone, the math flips on you fast. What's the biggest bulk buy you regretted because you couldn't eat it in time?
