My vegan friend told me I was ruining my chili by browning the meat first
She was right about the texture and flavor blending better when I just dump everything in raw and let it simmer for 2 hours, has anyone else tried this method?

Exactly, browning first can really dry out the meat if you're not careful. Tossing it in raw lets all that fat render slowly into the chili, making the whole pot richer. Low and slow always wins for chili, no contest lol.
