My neighbor said she feeds her family of 4 on $60 a week and I don't get how, so I asked to see her receipts
She lives two doors down in Kalamazoo and we carpool our kids to school. Last Tuesday she mentioned her grocery bill and I thought she was joking. She pulled up her last 4 receipts on her phone. $58, $61, $54, $63 for a family of 4. Lots of rice, dried beans, eggs, frozen veg, and a whole chicken stretched into 3 meals. I spend about $160 a week for just me and my son. I'm not even buying fancy stuff, or at least I didn't think I was. I looked at my own receipt from Meijer and half of it was snacks and drinks. What's the one swap that cut your bill the most? I need something concrete, not just "meal plan better" because I already tried that and fell off by week 2.
