My mom told me I was wasting money on pre-shredded cheese and she was right
She pointed out that a block of cheddar is $2.50 at Aldi vs. $4 for a bag of shredded stuff, and I save about 30% on every taco night now. Has anyone else switched to block cheese and noticed a big difference in their grocery bill?

Gotta admit @anna_ross19, my Aldi cheese budget is a whole mess... maybe I'm just shopping at peak inflation hours or something, haha. The block versus bag gap feels like a dollar fifty here, but I'm also the guy who pays $5 for a bag of shredded mozzarella at 11 PM on a Tuesday. Either way, my taco game got 30% cheaper, which means more room for extra sour cream.

@dakotawood, Aldi doesn't have "peak inflation hours" since prices are the same all day long.

Wait, $4 for a bag of shredded cheese at Aldi? I've literally never seen it over $3 there, so that's wild to me. I mean, I get the logic of block cheese being cheaper, but around here the difference is more like 50 cents, not a dollar fifty. You must live in a pricier area or something. But hey, if it saves you 30% on taco night, that's a solid win, I'm just shocked at how much you were paying for the pre-shredded stuff in the first place.
