My grocery bill in Phoenix jumped $30 last month and I'm scrambling
I used to make a big pot of chili for under $15, but ground beef alone is now $8 a pound at my local Fry's. I had to swap in a can of lentils, which honestly turned out fine, but it's just another thing to figure out. What's your go-to cheap meal when the usual stuff gets too pricey?

Yeah, that ground beef price is brutal lately.

Tell me about it. I saw it for over six dollars a pound at my store last week. Makes planning meals a real headache right now.

Consider how much it costs to raise cattle and get beef to the store. The price reflects real work and higher costs for farmers. It's still a good deal for the protein you get compared to other meats. We're paying for a reliable supply.
