Finally caved and bought dried beans after years of canned

I saw this video from a food blogger showing how a 1 lb bag of dried black beans ($1.50) makes the same amount as 4 cans ($4.00). Has anyone else switched and found a good trick for remembering to soak them the night before?

Oh, "remembering to soak them the night before" like that's not the whole reason canned beans exist in the first place. I've got a system now though - I just set a reminder on my phone that I ignore for three days straight until I finally make a desperate bowl of oatmeal instead. But hey, saving $2.50 is totally worth the frantic Google search at 4pm asking "can you cook beans without soaking" while your family stares at you.

Oh man, you just described the exact cycle of shame I put myself through every single month... I buy the dry beans, set the reminder, ignore it, and then end up ordering takeout because I'm too stubborn to open a can.
