Burned a $30 pork shoulder so bad the smoke alarm went off, but my cheap backup saved dinner
I was slow-cooking it for 6 hours in my busted oven and it hit 215 degrees instead of 195, so I panicked and shredded the burnt bits into a $4 can of chipotle sauce and served it over rice, was that a smart fix or did I just mask a failure with extra spice?

Chipotle sauce is basically liquid courage at this point, I once turned a hockey puck of burnt chicken into “taco night” and my roommate still brings it up. You didn't mask a failure, you upgraded it into a survival story that costs $4 to retell. Honestly, my backup move would've been ordering pizza and lying about it, so you're already ahead of me. Burnt pork plus smoky chipotle sounds like a two for one deal on humility and flavor.

Laughing at @averywilliams because I once fed my dog "chipotle surprise" just to dispose of my own cooking failure.
