Wasted $340 on a used mortar mixer from a guy in Reno, and I want folks to learn from my mistake
Saw a listing for a used paddle mixer on a job site app and drove two hours to Reno to grab it for $340 cash, thinking I was getting a deal. Got it home and ran it on a small batch of type S, and the gearbox started grinding within 20 minutes, turns out the guy had filled it with the wrong lube and the gears were toast. Has anyone else gotten burned buying used mixers off those local listings, or do you just eat the cost and buy new?
