Was sure that $18 plastic corner tool was a gimmick, then I laid 400 blocks with it
Bought one of those cheap plastic 90 degree corner blocks at the supply yard in Reno mostly because the guy behind the counter swore by it and I figured $18 wasn't much to lose. First two courses I hated it, felt like training wheels. Then I noticed my corners were dead plumb without me checking the level every three blocks, and my line was staying tight instead of drifting. Did 400 blocks on a garage last week and my back isn't screaming like it usually is. Anybody else use one of these or am I just late to something everyone already knew about?
Wait, you're just now finding out about these? I picked one up two years ago and it changed how I lay block, no more stopping to check every course. My corners stay true and I actually finish faster, which my knees appreciate.
