Threw $80 down the drain on a mortar mixing paddle that fell apart in 2 weeks

The cheap aluminum one from the hardware store stripped its threads on day 12 while I was mixing type S. Has anyone found a paddle that actually lasts more than a month without costing a fortune?

Ugh, that's rough. I mean, cheap tools are such a gamble. I had the same problem until I got one of those square shaft paddles from a local masonry supplier for like $25. It's not fancy but the threads haven't stripped out on me yet. Maybe it's just me but that type S is brutal on anything with threads.

Ditch the threaded ones and grab a square shaft paddle instead.
