Rant: I stopped soaking my brick trowel in water overnight and my mortar work got better
A guy on a job in Gary, Indiana mentioned he never soaks his trowel, just wipes it clean after each use, so I tried it for two months. My mortar stopped sliding off the blade mid-spread, and I stopped fighting the suction. Anyone else find that a dry trowel actually spreads Type S better, or am I just fooling myself?
