Watching two brands handle a data leak this month was like night and day

I mean, one company took 3 days to even say anything, and their statement was just a vague 'we're looking into it' email. The other one sent out a clear notice within 12 hours, told everyone exactly what info was exposed, and gave free credit monitoring for a year. The difference was just being honest and acting fast instead of hiding. The slow one is still getting roasted on Twitter. Has anyone else seen a company actually get this right lately?

Disagree honestly. Acting fast doesn't always mean getting it right first.

So what did that company even say after a week of silence?

Yeah, the "still getting roasted on Twitter" part is so real. I had my info caught in a leak last year and the company just went radio silent for a week. It makes you trust them way less.
