Vent: that fast food chain in Roseville "fixed" its ad by adding a 2 second apology card
So last month I'm sitting in the drive thru in Roseville waiting on a chicken sandwich, and their ad comes on the little screen, the one that ran during the playoffs where the guy gets dumped and eats the whole meal alone on the couch. People cooked them alive for it, lots of posts, lots of anger, you know the drill. I go back three weeks later, same line, same screen, and there is the exact same ad with a little white text card slapped on the end that says "sorry, we hear you" for maybe 2 seconds. That is it. No new spot, no pulled ad, just a sticky note on the same thing that made people mad. I think that is the part folks keep missing about these brand messes. People share the apology or the silence, but almost nobody tracks what the company actually did a month out, and a lot of them do basically nothing and wait for us to move on. Did anyone else clock a brand pulling this same move, saying sorry but leaving the ad up?
