That viral apology post from the ice cream brand last week was so fake

Did anyone actually read the full statement from Sweet Scoops after they got caught using expired milk? They blamed a 'supply chain error' but my cousin works at their Denver warehouse and said they've been doing this for months. The PR team tried to play it off like it was one batch but the health inspection showed it was like 40 gallons. How do brands think people are this dumb?

I used to be the person who'd roll my eyes at people overanalyzing apology statements, but this one actually changed my mind. Reading the actual inspection reports after seeing that post made me realize how much they were trying to hide. The way they kept saying it was a "small batch" when the numbers were right there showing 40 gallons is wild. It's not even about being sorry at that point, it's just hoping nobody checks the math. You're totally right that brands bank on people being too busy to dig into the details.

Wait, didn't their CEO say in an interview that they "take full responsibility" right before trying to blame a delivery driver? How do you fake being sorry for something youve been doing for months and nobody caught it?

Yeah, @miam75, you're right about that "take full responsibility" line feeling hollow. I actually looked up that interview, and from what I remember, they said something like "we accept full responsibility for the oversight" but then pivoted hard to how "a third-party contractor failed to follow protocol." It's a small distinction maybe, but they didn't outright say "we did it" or "our process was broken" - just that they were responsible for catching it. Your mileage may vary, but that "oversight" wording feels like a legal CYA more than an actual apology.
