That viral apology ad for the meat company was a total mess
I saw that viral apology ad from a big meat company last week and it was like they didn't even try. They posted a 2 minute video with the CEO looking super uncomfortable reading from a script that said nothing real. It just said sorry over and over without explaining what they did wrong or how they'd fix it. They got slammed with comments in the first 6 hours and ended up deleting the whole thing. Why do companies keep doing this? Has anyone else noticed these fake apologies actually make things way worse?

and honestly the whole thing felt like a pr stunt gone wrong. they probly thought saying sorry fast would make it go away but people saw right thru it. the comments were brutal people calling out specific lies from their past statements. i swear these companies hire the worst pr teams who think we're all stupid.

That's the thing that gets me too @the_joel... they think a quick apology will just wipe the slate clean like we all have amnesia or something. But people remember the stuff they said before, the way they acted, all of it. The comments were rough because people weren't just mad about this one thing, they were holding up receipts from years ago. Do you think they'll actually change anything going forward or just wait until the next blow up?
