That time a local bakery's apology email made things way worse

So my favorite spot in Portland sent out an email last week about a price hike, but they called their own customers 'cheap' for complaining. I saw the whole thing blow up on their Instagram. Their fix? They posted a video apology where the owner just read from a script for two whole minutes, didn't look at the camera once. It felt so fake it got more angry comments. Has anyone else seen a brand try to apologize and just dig a deeper hole?

Remember that coffee shop that tried to apologize for a roach problem? They posted a picture of their team in matching shirts holding a sign that said "Oops, our bad!" like it was some cute joke. People were so mad they just made it a meme for being out of touch. Sometimes trying to be funny just shows you don't get how serious the problem is.

Honestly though, is a roach sighting that big of a deal? It's gross, but it happens in food places sometimes. They cleaned it up and tried to make light of it. People act like it's a crime scene, but it's just bugs. The over the top anger feels more performative than anything.

Used to think a quick sorry fixed everything. That bakery video changed my mind. Watching someone read a script without looking up feels like they just want the problem to go away. Makes the first mistake seem smaller than the fake fix.
