That time a fast food chain tried to blame the wrong driver for a delivery disaster
I used to give fast food places like McDonald's the benefit of the doubt when orders got messed up. But last month, my local Wendy's in Akron blamed a DoorDash driver for a missing burger, then posted a video showing the wrong guy's face for 12 hours before taking it down. The real driver had to get a lawyer involved and now I just assume every corporate apology is garbage until proven otherwise. Anyone else stopped trusting those "we're looking into it" statements?

Honestly, I got so burned by a similar thing with a Taco Bell delivery last year. They claimed the driver ate my Crunchwrap Supreme and posted a still from their security cam of some poor guy with my exact same bald spot and dad bod trying to explain it wasn't me. I had to call their corporate line and actually prove I was at my desk working, not scarfing down their food at 9pm. Now every time I see one of those "we're looking into it" statements I just laugh and think well, at least I'm not the one getting publicly shamed for a stolen bean burrito. Ngl, it made me paranoid enough that I started taking a selfie with my order receipt just in case.

That receipt selfie hack is honestly genius, might have to steal it.

the taco bell thing was actually a different case, pretty sure that was a driver who ate the food and tried to blame the customer. still smart to cover yourself though.
