Saw that BuzzFeed apology video they put out after the whole 'resurfaced old staff tweets' drama

Honestly, that thing they posted on TikTok last week was just laughable - they spent 90 seconds talking about 'listening and learning' with sad music playing. Has anyone at a big media company ever actually bounced back from a PR fail like that without just waiting for everyone to forget?

Think about it like this - every time a big company messes up they just post some apology video with sad music and talk about "doing better" and then they go right back to whatever they were doing before. It's the same pattern you see in real life too, like when a friend says "sorry" but then keeps doing the same annoying thing over and over. The apology is just a performance to make people stop being mad at them temporarily, not an actual plan to change anything. That's the thing about these viral PR moments, they're really just about waiting out the storm until something else pops up (which it always does) and everyone moves on.

Oh absolutely, it's like watching a toddler knock over a tower of blocks and then give you that sweet little "sorry" face before doing it again five seconds later lol. The whole thing is just a waiting game where they sit there with their heads down looking real serious until the internet gets bored and moves on to the next disaster. And they know we will, that's the worst part. It's like they've studied human nature and figured out we have the attention span of a goldfish.
