Remember that Peloton treadmill recall? I almost bought a used one.

I was about to grab a Peloton Tread for $800 off Facebook Marketplace last March, thinking I scored a deal. Turns out the seller didn't mention it was part of the recall for the child safety issue, and the screen was still locked. I only found out when I called Peloton support to check the serial number, and they flagged it immediately. Has anyone else nearly gotten stuck with a recalled product from a private seller?

Oh man that's brutal. I almost bought a "vintage" treadmill at a garage sale last summer only to realize later it was one of those old school ones that could literally catch on fire mid-stride. Definitely would have been a great way to explain to the ER why I showed up with a melted running belt and zero dignity.

Wait, "melted running belt"? You're joking, right? I mean, I knew those old treadmills were sketchy but I didn't think they were literally fire hazards. That's like something out of a 90s horror movie where the gym equipment turns on you. I'm honestly a little shook right now because I almost bought one of those from a neighbor last year. So glad I chickened out at the last second.
