PSA: My friend told me to never trust a brand apology video filmed in a car.

Honestly, I laughed when she said it, but then that juice company's CEO did exactly that after their 'all natural' label got busted for having 12 artificial colors, and the whole thing felt so fake it just made people angrier. Has anyone else seen a brand apology that just made the whole mess worse?

That "all natural" juice company video is the perfect example. The CEO looked like he was reading a hostage note off his dashboard. It was so clearly a last minute, damage control thing that it just confirmed they were guilty. They would have been better off saying nothing.

Oh my god, yes. The one from that fast fashion place last year had the founder crying in her parked car and it was so awkward. I mean, @the_charlie is right, it just makes it look like a total panic move.

That "hostage note" line from @the_charlie is spot on. It feels so staged that it just kills any real feeling of sorry. You're right, sometimes saying nothing is actually the smarter move.
