Last Tuesday was the worst PR disaster I've ever seen unfold in real time

I watched a regional coffee chain in Portland post a tone-deaf tweet about "grinding through the week" right after they laid off 40 staff members without warning. Within 3 hours, their hashtag was trending locally with people posting screenshots of their old employee reviews praising the company culture. They tried to apologize with a generic statement and it just made everyone angrier. Has anyone else seen a company dig themselves deeper by not addressing the real issue first?

Did any of the laid off employees respond to their apology?

Double checked a few of the public threads about it, @ray_miller41, and most of them seemed to be radio silence or one-word replies. One guy said he got the email and just deleted it, another mentioned the apology felt like something HR wrote up in five minutes. Makes you wonder if they even expected a response.
