Just realized the 'gift card' my old landlord mailed me was from a company that folded, lost $200
So back in March my landlord in Tucson mailed me a $200 gift card as a sorry for keeping my deposit 45 days past the legal limit, and I never checked who it was from. Fast forward to August, I finally try to use it at a store and the cashier tells me the company shut down in April after a huge mess where they sold cards people could never redeem. Turns out there was a whole flood of complaints online and a state attorney general got involved, but the site was just gone with no refund process. I called the number on the back like 6 times and it rang to a dead line every single time. Has anyone actually gotten money back from a brand that pulled this kind of move, or is $200 just gone forever?
