Hit 1,000 customer complaints logged in my shop last month - is that good or bad?

I run a small electrical shop in Portland and last month I crossed 1,000 complaints in my file. Half are from people who think I charged too much for a simple outlet swap. The other half are from people who say I saved them from a fire. I'm not sure if that number means I'm a bad guy or a good one. What do you guys think, does a high complaint count just mean you're dealing with a lot of people or does it actually mean something wrong with your business?

Dude I feel this so hard. I run a little appliance repair spot and I swear half my complaints are "you didn't fix it" when really they just didn't plug it in right. The other half are people mad I pointed out their 20 year old fridge is a fire hazard and they need a new one not a repair. One lady yelled at me for ten minutes because I told her her dryer lint trap was basically a wool sweater. But then the next week some guy sent me a gift card because I found a mouse nest in his fuse box. It's like the number just means you're actually talking to real customers who have real opinions, not that you're doing anything wrong.

Some people just like to complain.

Started keeping a quick repair log and handing a copy to the customer every time I finish a job.
