That $60 "viral" exfoliating mitt was a total waste of my money

I saw this brand blowing up on TikTok promising instant baby-soft skin and ordered one for $60. Got it three days ago, used it exactly like the video showed, and I ended up with red raw patches all over my arms. Looked closer at the packaging and realized the brand is just a drop-shipper slapping their logo on $2 mitts from AliExpress. I wasted cash and my skin is still healing from the chemical treatment they lied about. Anyone else get burned by this same overhyped skincare tool?

Are these things even regulated, honestly? I got burned by a similar mitt from a different brand, cost me like $45 and my arms were red and scabby for a week. Checked the ingredients list like a hawk after and it had some harsh acid mix that just stripped my skin right off. These TikTok brands know people will buy anything that looks satisfying in a video, no matter the actual safety. Your story is making me feel better about tossing mine, at least I only used it once before the rash showed up.

Oh boy, @mia748 I feel you on this one but actually I gotta speak up about something. Those acid exfoliating mitts aren't really meant to be used like scrubbing pads, you know? The ones with harsh acids are usually chemical peels in glove form, not physical exfoliators. Most of them are regulated as cosmetics so they have to list ingredients but the real issue is people using them wrong. The instructions usually say to leave the product on for a few minutes then rinse, not scrub back and forth like a loofah. I learned that the hard way too after my arms got all red and stingy. Yours probably had glycolic or lactic acid which is fine for light exfoliation but not for vigorous rubbing. I threw mine out after that first bad reaction and just use a plain silicone scrubber now with a gentle cleanser.
