So I was at the local coffee shop's 'sustainability' launch event last month
They had all these new compostable cups, but the barista told me they can't actually compost them in our city's system, so they just go to the landfill anyway. It felt like a whole greenwashing show just to look good. Has anyone else caught a brand in a lie like that at a live event?

Isn't it crazy how they spend all that money on a fancy launch but none on making the actual system work? I saw a grocery store do a whole "plastic-free" demo, but all the samples came wrapped in that impossible plastic film.

Classic corporate logic right there. They probably paid some consultant a fortune to plan that "eco-friendly" demo, then cheaped out on the actual supplies. It's like buying a gold-plated bucket to bail out a sinking boat.

Right? I mean I saw a "green" home show where they built a tiny house with all reclaimed wood, but then used like three cans of spray foam inside. Idk maybe it's just me but that stuff is terrible for the air.
