Just saw a coffee shop's 'apology' for a rat video that made things way worse
They posted a 3 paragraph statement on Instagram that basically blamed the customer for filming, said 'rodents are a part of city life,' and offered a 10% off coupon. The comments were a total dumpster fire for days. Has a brand apology ever actually made you angrier?

Wait, they seriously tried to say rodents are just part of city life? That's not an apology, that's just giving up. A ten percent coupon feels like a slap in the face after seeing that.

Exactly, @shane655. That "part of city life" line is just an excuse for them doing a bad job. It means they don't plan to actually fix the problem. A lousy coupon doesn't make up for finding rats where your food should be. They're basically telling customers to just deal with it, and that's unacceptable.

That ten percent off coupon is honestly the most insulting part for me. Like, you saw a rat near your food and their fix is basically a dollar off your next latte. I mean, the whole statement reads like they're annoyed they got caught instead of being sorry it happened. It just makes you lose all trust in the place.
