TIL my neighbor's complaint about my leaf blower noise actually helped me get along with the whole street

Old Mrs. Chen from down the block told me I was firing it up at 7am on Sundays and now I wait until 10am, and three other neighbors actually thanked me for switching to a rake last week.

Yeah, "firing it up at 7am" hit close to home. I used to mow at 8am on Saturdays until my across-the-street neighbor left a note saying his kids slept in. Now I wait until 10am too, and he brings me cookies every now and then. Funny how a little schedule tweak can turn a whole street from annoyed to friendly.

10am is still too early. You're being a pushover. Mowing at 8am on a Saturday is totally fine. People who sleep in that late need to get over themselves. Your neighbor's kids can sleep through a little noise or wear earplugs. You bought the house, you pay the mortgage, you do what you want on your property. Cookies don't pay your bills. If they want quiet, they can move to the woods. This whole "be nice to everyone" thing just lets people run all over you. Stop bending over backwards for people who won't do the same for you.

Wait, @evan_burns95, isn't 10am still pretty early for a weekend though? I mean, I get that 7am is too much, but by 10am some people are still having their coffee and trying to relax... maybe 11am is the real sweet spot.
