Ran into a guy at the Bothell library who thinks the new park plan is a waste of money

I was picking up a book on native plants last Tuesday and overheard him telling the librarian the whole $2 million project should just be more parking. When I mentioned the playground and walking trails, he said 'green space doesn't pay the bills.' Has anyone else had a chat about the board's park vote that stuck with them?

Imagine your yearly tax bill buying the swings, the slide, and the rubber mulch for the whole neighborhood. That's just one house. Multiply that by every house on your street, and you could probably fund a new park with a splash pad and everything. Makes you wonder where all that cash actually goes when the local playground equipment is from the 90s and falling apart.

@shane655 my neighbor's taxes paid for a rusty slide that gave my kid splinters.
