I finally saw the weirdest thing at McMenamins Anderson School
Was grabbing lunch there last Saturday and noticed a sign in the hallway that said 'Please don't feed the ghosts'... turns out it's a joke from the staff but I spent like 10 minutes looking for a ghost behind the bar. Anyone else run into weird signs around town?

Plot twist: the ghosts are actually just former employees who never left because the break room coffee is that addictive. That sign is probably the most honest thing in that entire building, considering half the hallways there seem to lead to Narnia or at least a really confusing time portal. I swear I saw a sign in the bathroom once that said "Please flush twice if you've seen Bigfoot" and I honestly couldn't tell if it was a joke or a genuine warning. McMenamins staff clearly have too much free time on their hands, which is honestly the most magical part of the whole experience. Would still rather chase ghosts there than try to find my way out of the hotel section without a GPS.

That Bigfoot bathroom sign thing you mentioned is honestly the most McMenamins thing I've ever heard. I worked a contract gig at the Kennedy School once, laying down some cork flooring in one of the smaller bars, and I swear I got turned around three times just trying to find the break room for my lunch. The hallways there don't follow any kind of normal building logic, it's like they were designed by someone who was either really drunk or really into mazes. I totally get why people think the ghosts are just employees who can't find the exit, because I almost joined them permanently that week. The signs they put up are half joke, half genuine survival guide and that's what makes the place so weirdly charming. You're right though, getting lost there beats having to navigate a normal hotel any day.
