I finally replaced my 10 year old garage door opener after it died mid-morning

Last Tuesday I went to open my garage door to leave for work and nothing happened. Just a sad clicking sound from the unit mounted on the ceiling. I pressed the wall button a few times and then the remote, still nothing. Turns out the motor finally gave out after a decade of use. I had to manually lift the door which took way too much effort and almost threw my back out. Called a local guy in Bothell who came out same day and put in a new one with a battery backup. Cost me about $450 for everything including labor. Has anyone else had an old opener just quit without warning like that?

Right?? $450 for a same day install in Bothell is almost suspiciously cheap (like, did they even use a level?). I feel like most places around here wouldn't even roll the truck for under $600, especially if they're pulling permits and doing it right. You gotta wonder if that price includes everything (materials, haul away, the whole deal) or if they hit you with hidden fees after. Same day service usually means they're charging a premium for the convenience, not a discount. Maybe they're just starting out and trying to get reviews, but still, that number makes me nervous about quality.
