Was talking with a master gardener at the county fair last weekend

She said most people kill their houseplants by overwatering, not underwatering. She told me she hasn't watered her snake plant in 4 months and it's thriving. How do you actually tell when your plants need water without just guessing?

Always thought more water was better, but she's right, my snake plant's happiest when I mostly ignore it.

My mom killed three snake plants before she finally just put one in a dark corner and stopped touching it.
