Vent: my $65 moisture meter beats my $12 one every time, so why does anyone still buy the cheap kind?
Bought the $12 one at a big box place two springs ago for my peppers and tomatoes. It read the same number whether the pot was soaked or bone dry. Killed six seedlings before I figured it out.
Last month I got a $65 one that reads in tenths and has a probe that goes deep. My fiddle leaf stopped dropping leaves in about 10 days. Same plant, same spot, same watering schedule. Only the tool changed.
So which is it. Do cheap meters just not work, or did I get a bad one and blame the whole price range? What are you all using, and did you notice a real difference?
