Tried giving my orchids a little cinnamon after a fungal scare and it actually saved three of them
Had this weird white mold creeping up on a couple of my phalaenopsis last month. Read online that cinnamon works as a natural antifungal so I just dusted it on the affected spots and cut back on watering for a week. Three of them bounced back almost immediately and the fourth is still kinda iffy but no more mold. Has anyone else used random kitchen spices for plant care and had it actually do something?

Haven't you pulled cinnamon out and had it make things worse though? I tried it on some damp soil once and it just sat there getting crusty, didn't stop anything. Feels like cutting back on water did most of the work for your orchids honestly.

Wait, hold on, you put it on damp soil and it just crusted up? In my experience, cinnamon needs a dry surface to do anything, otherwise it's basically just fancy dirt. But yeah, cutting back on water is usually the real hero in these situations, I'd agree there.
