Spent $90 on a fancy moisture meter for my houseplants

Thought I was being smart checking water levels before watering. Turns out the cheap $15 one I had before was just as accurate. Anyone else get burned by overthinking a simple tool?

$90 is just paying for the fancy screen that tells you the same thing.

...and honestly people obsess over leaves turning yellow or drooping when half the time it's just the plant being dramatic. I've got a cactus I've watered maybe four times in two years and it's thriving. Meanwhile my friend's got a whole spreadsheet tracking moisture levels and her ferns still die. Maybe focus on drainage and light instead of dropping a hundred bucks on a gadget.
