Put $250 into a rare fern bundle that showed up dead
I’m out the money and the plants, and the seller won’t respond to my messages. Has anyone else found a reliable source for these, or am I better off sticking to local nurseries?

$250 for ferns that showed up dead is rough. Usually when a seller ghosts you like that, they know they messed up and don't want to deal with it. I've stopped ordering plants online unless I've personally seen the seller's packing process on Instagram or through a local group. Too many of them just toss plants in a box with no insulation. Stick to local nurseries for now, at least you can inspect the plants before buying and the owner is right there if something goes wrong. If you really want to try online again, look for sellers who offer live arrival guarantees and have clear refund policies posted.

Feel you on this one @blake691. It's so disappointing when you're excited for plants and they show up looking like they went through a blender. I think the ghosting is the worst part though, like just be honest and own up to it. I had a similar thing happen with a rare philodendron last year, paid almost $200 and it was basically compost when it arrived. Seller blocked me after I sent photos. I stick to local swaps and my trusted small shop now where I can literally touch the leaves before I buy. Online is just too risky unless you really vet them first.
