Honestly, what kind of stuff are you actually doing though? Like, are you cross-breeding plants and keeping detailed journals, or just buying rare succulents and putting them in fancy pots? Because my cousin calls his hydroponic lettuce setup 'agricultural science' and it's just a bucket under a grow light.

That cousin thing is spot on, honestly. Feels like half the people into plants now just want the look without any of the actual work. Like, are you even checking soil pH or just posting filtered pics? Real gardening is messy and most of it fails, that's the whole point. Otherwise you're just decorating with extra steps.
