Totally feel that. Watched a jade plant I'd had for six years get root rot in like three days. All that careful watering for nothing, you know?

Worth the wait" kinda depends. I mean, a decade is a long time to put into something that could just die from one bad week. That's a lot of effort for maybe no payoff at all.

Man, my buddy had a bonsai he'd trained for ten years. His cat knocked it off the ledge last spring.
