Had a weird talk with a neighbor about growing tomatoes in pots vs ground
She swore her container plants outproduced my in-ground ones last summer by like 30 pounds, but I think it's just because she waters twice a day and I slack off. Am I missing something about root space or is she just bragging about her cherry tomatoes?

Ugh this is so relatable. My neighbor is the exact same way, she waters her cucumbers every single evening while I'm lucky if I remember twice a week. Maybe it's just me but I swear those little cherry tomato plants just love being babied all the time.

Pretty sure my plants have a support group where they complain about me behind my back. I once forgot to water my basil for a whole week and it looked at me like I'd personally betrayed it. Only thing I've ever managed to keep alive is a spider plant that's probably surviving out of pure spite.

Actually cherry tomatoes are determinate plants that ripen all at once unlike the bigger slicing types.
