Found a cheap way to get orchid roots to grow faster
Ngl, I was struggling with one of my phalaenopsis orchids that just wouldn't put out new roots after I repotted it. I read about using a diluted kelp extract soak once a week, so I tried it with a bottle of Maxsea 16-16-16 I had laying around. After 3 weeks, I saw 4 new root tips popping out. Has anyone else tried kelp or seaweed stuff on stubborn orchids?

Kelp extract is LEGIT but you gotta be careful with the strength. I use a really weak mix like half a teaspoon per gallon and only soak for maybe 15 minutes max. Too strong and you'll burn those delicate root tips. Some people swear by plain old cinnamon powder on the nodes to stimulate growth too. Just make sure whatever you're using doesn't have any added hormones or weird fillers. I've had good results with the cheap liquid seaweed from the garden center mixed at half strength.

Isn't it funny how the least is always more with this kind of stuff?
