Blew $60 on fancy soil amendments that did nothing
I got suckered into buying a bag of this fancy mycorrhizal inoculant powder for my indoor plants. The guy at the garden center in Portland swore it would make my pothos explode with new growth. I mixed it into the soil for three months and tracked everything in a little notebook. Not a single difference from the plants I just used regular potting soil on. The stuff cost me $60 for a tiny bag that only did about 8 repots. Has anyone else fallen for these pricey soil boosters that don't actually do anything?

Compost tea from my own bin worked way better for me.

Oh man, I tried making my own compost tea once and ended up with something that looked like swamp water and smelled like regret. @parkera22 you're clearly doing it right though, I probably let mine sit too long or something. My plants were not impressed, they basically gave me the silent treatment for a month. Your homemade batch probably has way more of the good microbes and stuff since it's fresh from your setup. I'll stick to buying the premade bags until I figure out my brewing game.
