Thought I could spot fake profiles by follower count until a spam account with 12 followers fooled me
For about two years I assumed anything under 100 followers with a weird bio was a bot. Then last month a profile with 12 followers and a photo of a dog in a Cleveland backyard got me to click a link to a "free" grill. It was a scam, and the account had been active for 8 months posting normal stuff to build trust first. Now I check posting history and comment replies instead of the number. Has anyone else changed their whole method after one bad call?
