That 4am Facebook comment turned out to be a sneaky AI sales bot

I run a small local hiking group and last Tuesday someone commented on our event page with this super supportive message about loving the outdoors. Seemed normal until they replied to every single member with the same line and a link to a gear store. I checked their profile and it had no photos, 3 friends, and a bio that was just keywords. So I copy pasted their comment into a few bot detection sites and two of them flagged it as AI generated with 90% confidence. The kicker is their account was created 2 weeks ago and joined 40 different groups in one day. I blocked them and reported it to the group admins, but it makes me wonder how many of these are slipping past us in smaller communities. Has anyone else caught one of these doing the same rounds in your niche groups?
