Shoutout to the Instagram account with 40k followers that turned out to be a guy in Ohio with 12 phones
I got suckered last Tuesday by a fitness page that kept popping up in my feed. It had 40,000 followers, daily posts, and comments that all said the same three word sentences like "so true king" and "needed this today." I started poking around because the photos never showed the same gym twice, and the hands in the before and after shots didn't match. Turns out the whole thing was run by one guy outside Columbus who was posting from 12 phones at once, all logged into different accounts to like and comment on his own stuff. A reverse image search pulled up his real page, and he had a post bragging about the setup before he deleted it. Now I check for matching hands and lighting before I trust any account. Has anyone else caught a big page doing the phone farm thing, and did you find a faster way to spot it?
