Warning: I finally stopped rounding my spines after ruining 6 books last Tuesday
I used to round every spine on the guillotine because it looked clean, but on Tuesday it bit too deep on a 300 page rebind and cracked the hinge area on the boards. A binder at the Raleigh meetup showed me his backing hammer and a bone folder, and now I'm rounding by hand with way more control and zero cracked shoulders. What's your go to tool for rounding, or am I overthinking it?
