Warning: Check your local library's bookbinding class before you pay for it
I stopped by the downtown library last Tuesday and saw their free workshop was teaching perfect binding with all materials included, which would have saved me the $60 I dropped on a beginner kit last month.

Whoa, that's a great point. I think a lot of people overlook library workshops for stuff like this. They usually have industrial-grade equipment too, not the flimsy stuff you get in a hobby kit. Definitely worth asking if they have a waitlist for the class if it's full.

My local library had a 3D printing workshop that changed everything for me. I went in thinking I needed to buy my own printer but they let me use theirs for free. The staff even helped me fix my design file when it was messed up. I ended up printing a custom part for my bike that would have cost $50 online. The whole thing took about two hours and the librarian walked me through every step. Have you checked if your library does drop in hours besides the scheduled classes?
