Tried a scrap of old denim to line the spine and my signatures finally sit straight
Last week I was rebinding a worn out paperback copy of Treasure Island for my nephew and could not stop the text block from shifting in the case. I glued a thin strip of worn denim down the spine before casing in, and the give in the fabric let everything settle flat when I pressed it. Has anyone tried other fabrics for spine linings, or does cotton just break down too fast?
