That $15 bone folder I avoided for 3 months is now my favorite tool

I kept using a flathead screwdriver to crease paper and thought it was fine. Then my pal at the shop in Portland let me try her bone folder on a 200 page text block and the fold sat way flatter, no cracking. Bought a basic one for $15 and now I reach for it for every signature, even small pamphlet stitches. Has anyone else resisted buying a simple tool and then felt dumb once they finally caved?
