Stopped by an old bookbinding shop in Portland and it felt like a time capsule

Went to a closing shop off Burnside last weekend, they had a 1930s Smyth sewing machine still hooked up with thread in it. The owner let me run a test pamphlet through it, that thing sounded like a train but made a perfect stitch. Anyone else ever get to use gear that old, or is it just museum stuff now?
