Spent 6 months gluing book spines wrong before a shop vet set me straight
I was using regular PVA glue on all my book spines, the same stuff from the craft store. An old timer at the bindery in Portland watched me for 2 minutes and said, "You're gonna crack every spine in a year." He showed me how heat-set EVA glue flexes way better and doesn't turn brittle. Has anyone else had that moment where you realize you've been using totally wrong materials this whole time?
