Spent 3 hours trying to fix a wonky spine hinge

I thought my glue was too thick so I kept messing with the consistency. Turns out I was just using the wrong brush size, switched to a smaller one and it fixed everything in 10 minutes. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on something that simple?

That "wrong brush size" thing really hit home. I spent a whole day once sanding down a book that barely needed it because I was obsessed with the wrong kind of glue. It always feels like the smallest details that mess up the whole process.

Switching to a pH-neutral PVA changed everything for me after that same mistake.
